Solar incentives in Nevada*

Nevada home solar power systems that produce up to 1MW are eligible for net metering unless those systems produce more than 150% of their peak demand. The Nevada metering system operates in rate tiers. The sooner you go solar, the higher likelihood of being accepted into a higher tier with higher rates. If your system produces more electricity than you consume in a billing-month, you will receive a credit on your next bill. These credits have no expiration. Nevada currently uses time-of-use (TOU) electricity rates. This means you may have to pay higher rates in the evenings. You can secure your solar savings by installing batteries to your system.

Nevada homeowners are also eligible for the Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC).*** The ITC allows you to deduct 26 percent of the cost of installing a solar energy system from your federal taxes.*
