How to monitor your Enphase solar system
Congratulations on going solar with Freedom Forever! Here is how to monitor your Freedom Forever solar system using the Enphase Enlighten monitoring software. Your Enphase Enlighten monitoring software provides system performance information including how much power it produced that day, the peak power produced by your system, and the time and amount of power it was producing when it last checked your system.
How to log in to the Enphase Enlighten system
Check your email. You will have received an email from Freedom Forever with instructions on how to log in for the first time as well as a link to a page that asks for an email and a password. Your email and password will be used to sign into the system. Once you have created a password, you’ll be able to sign into your Enphase Enlighten monitoring portal.
The Enphase Enlighten mobile app
You will find the Enphase Enlighten mobile app in the Play Store (Android) or the Apple Store (iPhone). Download the app to your phone and then sign in with your email and password.
How to use the Enphase Enlighten monitoring portal
Top bar: On the top of the Enphase Enlighten display, you’ll find the current weather and performance information about your system. You will find how much power it produced that day, the peak power produced by your system that day, and the time and amount of power it was producing when the Enlighten software last checked your system.
Energy production block graph: Below the top bar, you’ll find a graph made up of blue blocks. Each block represents a unit of time. The blocks range in color from light blue for high power production to black for no power production. The amount of time each block represents depends on whether you choose to display energy production by the hour, day, or month. If you hover over a block, you’ll see how much energy that block represents displayed in kilowatt-hours for that bloc.
What you can learn from the energy production block graph
By the hour: You’ll learn what time of day your system produces the most energy. That will be the times that show the most light-blue boxes. When you see black boxes, those will be displayed next to times that your system has stopped producing electricity (usually in the evening).
By the day. You’ll learn which days your system produced the most and least amounts of electricity. Sunny days typically produce more power than cloudy days.
By the week or month: You’ll be able to see your system steadily producing more power as you go from winter towards summer. It will also show you your system producing less power as you go from summer towards winter.
How to tell at a glance if your system is okay
On the top bar, you’ll normally see a green checkmark. That means your system is working fine. If it’s not, you’ll see a message such as:
- Your system has stopped reporting data.
- Some microinverters have stopped reporting.
- There is a production issue.
- If your system has a revenue grade meter, it has stopped reporting
If you see any of the above messages, call us and let us know. Freedom Forever and we’ll come out and check your system. The warning message will contain a link that will give you more information about the problem your system is having.
